Our journey begins with a picturesque drive up the Placencia Peninsula, through the stunning landscapes of the Mayan Mountains in the Cayo District, leading us to San Ignacio. There, we'll traverse two significant rivers, the Macal and the Mopan, including a unique crossing via an old-fashioned car ferry, a rarity in Belize. Our destination is the ancient Mayan Ruins of Xunantunich, known as 'Maiden of the Rock.' A knowledgeable guide will provide an in-depth 2-hour tour, unveiling the enigmatic history of the Mayans. We'll enjoy lunch at a traditional Belizean restaurant, with an optional visit to a Butterfly Farm (entrance fee not included). The adventure continues at The Blue Hole National Park, a breathtaking limestone cave formation filled with vibrantly blue water, part of Belize's vast, mostly unexplored cave system. Guests are invited to swim and marvel at this natural phenomenon. The day concludes with a return to Placencia for a tranquil evening on the beach.
