IncludedStep into one of the most sought-after fly fishing destinations in the Caribbean. Set just inside the Barrier Reef, the expansive flats—ranging from 50 yards to half a mile wide—are bordered by the vibrant, 100-foot-deep waters of the Caribbean Sea. This unique geography creates ideal conditions for sight casting to elusive Permit, along with healthy populations of Bonefish and seasonal Tarpon. Whether you're chasing a Grand Slam or simply enjoying a day on the water, this region offers world-class opportunities year-round.
What to Expect Enjoy a full day out on the water guided by a local expert. The day typically begins between 6:00, depending on conditions, and wraps up at your pace. You'll explore channels, lagoons, and rivers where Tarpon roam, as well as open flats where Permit and Bonefish feed.
Recommended Gear Fly gear should be tailored to the weather. On calm days, a #6 outfit is ideal, while windier conditions call for an #8 or #10. Reels should hold at least 200 yards of 20 lb test Dacron backing and floating fly line. Neutral-colored lines, 9' leaders, and 8–10 lb test tippets are suggested. Flies should be unweighted, tied on #6 hooks, and in shades of orange, white, brown, or pink.
Experience Level Some prior fly fishing experience is recommended. If bringing your own gear, we suggest assembling and testing it ahead of time. A few practice casts on land can make all the difference.
