Belcampo is near the banks of the Río Grande. This area is tropical, lush, and conveniently located for exploring Belize’s wildlife and native culture.

From Belcampo it’s a 13-minute drive to Punta Gorda, and 25 minutes to Toledo. This area is a fisherman’s paradise. In Punta Gorda you can arrange to tae a fly-fishing tour. Near the coast you can visit Sapodilla Caye, an archipelago where you can catch tarpon and snook. Or you can also go fishing in the coastal mangroves, which have waters rich with aquatic wildlife. When you’re done sightseeing on the water, take some time to learn more about Belizean culture. Punta Gorda has mostly people of Garífuna descent, and you can see a little bit of daily life in the Caribbean at the open-air markets on Saturday and Wednesday.

Belcampo has 16 private villas. All have tile floors, large windows, and original pieces of local artwork. Each of the villas has a distinct look, but they all share a breezy atmosphere and sumptuous views. You can spend time on your private veranda, which comes equipped with porch furniture, including a hammock. Inside the villa you’ll have another comfortable sitting area.

Each of the villas has a private bathroom with a spacious, walk-in shower. You’ll find your bathroom stocked with locally made soap, fluffy bathrobes, and a hair dryer.

Rooms here are neat and clean. Belcampo provides complimentary laundry services. You can store drinks and snacks in your villa’s refrigerator. If you have valuables you’d like to lock away, you can request to have a safety deposit box in your room.

Belcampo produces the majority of the food it serves in the restaurant on the grounds of the lodge itself. They raise chickens and pigs, and grow their own vegetables, herbs, and fruits. The dining room showcases Belize’s Creole, Mexican, Maya, and East Indian influences.

Visit the hotel’s jungle spa for a facial or a massage. Botanicals grown on the grounds of the lodge put these treatments over the top. For even more tropical tranquility, head to the lovely pool area for sunbathing and swimming.
