Cassia Hill Resort is just outside of San Ignacio, in the foothills of the Maya mountains. These accommodations put you a convenient distance from some of Belize’s most interesting Maya sites.
Drive about an hour to the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve to see some of the area’s wildlife. While you’re there you can float the river to see the Maya artifacts inside the Aktun Tunichil Muknal Cave. The Maya ruins of Cahal Pech are only a 5-minute drive from Cassia Hill – explore a small complex of temples that the jungle is attempting to reclaim. While you’re in the area you should also drive to see Xunantunich, a Maya site where you can climb to the top of El Castillo, the site’s tallest temple. Staying at Cassia Hill Resort you’ll be just a couple of minutes away from San Ignacio, where you can find plenty of restaurants and services for visitors.
You can eat at the hotel restaurant. There is a stylish bar and lounge where you can order your favorite cocktails. When you’re ready to unwind, head to the resort’s infinity swimming pool, or get in a workout at the small fitness center.
Air-conditioned accommodations at Cassia Hill Resort come with ceiling fans and cable television — an oasis from the tropical climate. You can access the hotel’s free Wi-Fi from your room, and use the hotel phone in the lobby.
Guests can choose from private rooms or cottages. Both types of accommodations come with private bathrooms that supply hot water. Rooms come with hand-woven rugs and colorful local art.
