Ecocentro Danaus is a local conservation and educational effort located on the outskirts of La Fortuna. While you're here you'll see an incredible variety of plants, birds, and reptiles.
During a visit to Ecocentro Danaus it is possible to observe orchids, bromeliads, palms, bushes, ferns, heliconias and others. All these plants also attract more than 150 species of birds, two- and three-fingered sloths, bats, caymans, iguanas, basilisks, snakes, frogs, and butterflies.
The Ecocentro Danaus is open year round from Monday to Sunday 8 AM to 4 PM. Guests are welcome to stop in for self-guided tours anytime.
There is also a guided night tour that includes a walk through the forest with an experienced naturalist guide who speaks English and possess an extensive knowledge of natural history.
