Let Harold know what you think!
You haven’t really seen the rainforest until you’ve seen it at night. On this tour of the Mistico Hanging Bridges park you’ll get to walk through the intense nighttime landscape of a primary forest.
Primary forest is particularly diverse because of the absence of human interference. There are many species here that make an appearance only after the sun has set, including kinkajous, coatis, margays, and barn owls. Nighttime is also a good time to look for amphibians, reptiles, and thousands of species of nocturnal butterflies. On this tour you will also have the chance to see flowers that only bloom at night. You can take pictures, but make sure to wait until your guide says that it’s ok to use a flash so that you don’t scare the wildlife away.
This trail is almost 2 miles (3.2 km) long, although there is a short version that is only 1 mile (1.6 km). The 2-mile version takes around 2.5 hours to complete. You will pass over some hanging bridges that allow you to see the rainforest canopy at night.
Insect repellent, waterproof jacket, water bottle, long pants, and comfortable closed-toe hiking shoes (required for safaty reasons, entrance will be denied if wearing or shoes that don't fully cover the foot).
Entrance fee and certified naturalist guide expert.
