LagunaVista Villas puts you a short distance from Corcovado National Park, in the wild rainforest of the Osa Peninsula. Private decks have views of the surrounding rainforest, as well as the beach and the nearby lake.
The villas are on the edge of a lake called Laguna Peje Perrito. You can take a kayak out on the lake and try your hand at reeling in a snook or a tarpon. On the other side of the lagoon you can visit Carate Beach. During certain seasons you can see sea turtles come here to lay their eggs on the beach at night. For more wildlife observation you can take a 90-minute drive to Puerto Jiminez, and from their depart on a dolphin watching cruise. From May to November, enormous humpback whales and their young calves swim close to the shore. Corcovado National Park is a short drive from the villas, and it has lots of trails for you to hike. For a change of pace from hiking you can go horseback riding on trails near the Carate River.
LagunaVista Villas use only solar power. There is W-Fi available in the shared dining area. At the main lodge you will find a pool on a terrace that overlooks the ocean. It is surrounded by palm trees and other leafy tropical plants. Communal meals are served family style on the main deck of the lodge.
Expert chefs here prepare meals with local ingredients – if you catch a fish they’ll be happy to prepare it for you. They can also make you cooling cocktails that you’re welcome to enjoy on your private patio or next to the pool.
Accommodations have high ceilings and canopies over the beds. Tile floors and screened windows keep the space cool. Each villa has its own private deck – step outside to see monkeys and intensely colorful birds in the surrounding trees. The shower and bath area opens up to the outdoors and offers delightful views.
