If you came to Costa Rica for adventure and excitement then this tour is for you! Enjoy waterfalls, canyons, adrenaline rushes and the beauty of nature as you explore the jungle by hiking, zip lining, swimming, cliff jumping, and rappelling. This rainforest adventure is perfect if you want to combine a nature excursion with awesome activities.

The bustling beach town of Playa Jaco is the closest you’ll get to San Jose if beachside fun is at the top of your list. Surfing, kayaking, boating, whitewater rafting, floating safaris, and bicycling are just the start of the outdoor adventures you can enjoy. Meanwhile, the town of Jaco offers great infrastructure that’s sure to meet your basic needs — healthcare, major banks, plenty of hotels, restaurants, and shops — so you’ll want for nothing during your stay.

Flora, Fauna, and Food

Your adventure begins when it’s time to be picked up from your hotel (or the tour company’s main office); your pick-up time will vary based upon whether you’ve chosen the morning excursion or the afternoon excursion. Enjoy a scenic ride on the southern coastline for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before arriving at a private ranch. Your bilingal guides are with you every step of the way, so you can expect to have local plants and animals pointed out to you as you make your way to toward your destination.

When you arrive, you’ll enjoy an authentic Costa Rican breakfast or lunch before heading to the private reserve on a cool 4x4 ride 1,000 feet (305 m) up a mountain. Everything is more fun when it’s done safely, so when you reach basecamp, you’ll be fitted with saftey gear before venturing into the canyon (a 5 minute hike). Time for your first adventure — zip lining across an emerald green forest canopy and a river! You’ll get to enjoy zip lining twice before it’s time to prep for canyoning, where you’ll learn how to rappel down a training wall before tackling the waterfall. Speaking of…

Wet and Wild Adventures

Let’s go swimming…or jumping, or simply enjoying the mist of a cool refreshing waterfall. You can cliff jump anywhere from 4 to 25 feet (1 to 8 m); even if you don’t want to make the leap, it’s still a fun and serene experience. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the waterfall; close your eyes and listen to the rush and roar of this natural wonder and dip your toes in the pool it makes below.

Your adventure concludes when you do 4 rappels through the waterfall; your guides will be there to support and assist you, but it’s all you on the way down. When everyone in your group has had their turn, it’s time to climb up, leave the canyon, and enjoy a mild 15-20 minute hike back to the 4x4. See? You don’t have to be an expert adrenaline junkie to enjoy this activity, so canyoneers ages ‘7 to 78’ are more than welcome to take part. Add some some extra excitment to your Costa Rica itinerary with this rainforest multi-tour!
