Playa Lagarto Eco Hotel has 1,112 acres (450 ha) of nature reserve. This area offers incredible vistas of the ocean and the mountains. While staying in Playa Lagarto, you’ll be a convenient distance from Guanacaste’s top attractions.
You can drive an hour south of Playa Lagarto to reach Tamarindo, one of the most popular beach towns in Costa Rica. Go here for lots of restaurants and shopping. This is also a convenient place for a surf lesson, or, if you’re an experienced surfer, a trip to Witch’s Rock, one of Costa Rica’s premier surfing destinations. Just a bit farther north of Tamarindo you can visit Marino Las Baulas National Park, which has a white sand beach called Playa Grande where sea turtles come ashore to nest from October thru May.
It’s half a mile from the eco resort to the beach. On the grounds you can find a small pool with a Jacuzzi as well as trails for hiking and mountain biking. Grab a convenient meal at the on-site restaurant. Guests can rest assured that the reserve is all private property with 24/7 security.
Guest accommodations are clean, breezy, and air conditioned. These custom houses have tiled floors and comfortable, modern furniture. Each vacation house has a patio with a lovely view of the mountains. There are fully equipped kitchens complete with refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers. All of the living rooms have sofa beds and flat screen TVs.
