The small, charming Trogón Lodge is in the highlands of Costa Rica, at 4 miles (7,000 m) above sea level. This peaceful lodge has pristine grounds and offers a beautiful place to connect with nature.
During your stay here you'll be surrounded by mountains, and this destination is an excellent destination for exploring nature and birdwatching. There are three hiking trails on the grounds of the lodge, and the lodge is only 5.5 miles (9 km) from Los Quetzales National Park. Los Quetzales National Park covers 12,355 acres (5,000 ha) of three different types of forest, including cloud forest. You can also arrange day trips to the Savegre River for fishing expeditions.
The Trogón Lodge is a 105 acre (42 ha) farm. The "El Quetzal' restaurant serves family style meals. For those that wish to catch their dinner and have the chef prepare it, there is a trout pond on the grounds of the restaurant where guests can fish. Besides fresh seafood, the restaurant also serves local produce and preserves.
Guests can choose from 10 rustic and very comfortable cabins, which are all surrounded by lush gardens. Each cabin is complete with heating, private baths, and a view of either the Savegre River or the dazzling forest. Decorations are simple, with wood walls and bright, floral art.
You can access the Wi-Fi from the common areas, but keep in mind that there is no Wi-Fi access in the guest rooms. The bar serves cocktails and beers, and offers a cozy atmosphere with a pool table and a jukebox. In the lounge there are books and a DVD collection for you to browse.
