Paraíso Quetzal lodge offers guests cabins in the midst of Costa Rica’s most interesting national parks. This hotel has received Costa Rica’s “blue flag” award for its environmentally friendly practices.
As its name suggests, this lodge is an ideal location for bird watching. You’ll find these cabins near the top of Cerro de la Muerte, between the Tapantí National Park and the Quetzales National Park. Hike in Tapantí National Park and go for a swim in some of the natural swimming holes. Travel south of the lodge to reach the village of San Gerardo de Dota, where you can go for rafting tours on the Savegre River.
You can choose from standard and superior cabins. All of the cabins have lovely interiors and comfortable beds. From your cabin you’ll have views of the Talamanca forests and mountains.
Standard cabins come with space heaters, private bathrooms with hot water, and a coffee maker. Superior cabins also have enormous bathtubs and spacious living areas.
You can access the Wi-Fi from the hotel’s restaurant, called Los Colibríes. Colibríes means “hummingbirds” in Spanish, and while you eat you’ll have a great view of the hummingbirds that flit near the restaurant’s balcony. Order from a menu of dishes cooked over a traditional, wood-fired stove.
