From November to mid-March Costa Rica is on Central Standard Time (CST), the same as well-known US cities like Austin, TX, St. Louis, MO, and Chicago, Il. Between the months of April and October Costa Rica is on Mountain Standard Time (MST), the same as Salt Lake City, UT, Phoenix, AZ, and Denver, CO. Based on Greenwich Mean Time, Costa Rica is GMT-6.
