Hike the trails with a knowledgeable guide and get to the highest point in Baracoa for a spectacular view.
If you want to experience the dense nature in Cuba nothing beats going to a national park. However, going by yourself can be overwhelming. This tour will make the experience easy and enjoyable. A local guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the park where you will meet your nature guides. Then you will have two options of hikes.
The first is an hour and half walk on mostly flat land. Your guide will explain the medical and aromatic uses of different plants and trees. You will taste some of the fruits included annatto, mimosa, guavas and pineapples. The guide will point out the native birds. This is a great tour for aspiring bird watchers. The tour ends with a dip in a waterfall bath that is much needed after spending a day in the humidity.
The second option is the challenging ascent to Yunque. The hike is about three hours and will take you the highest point in Baracoa. The view from the top is unparalleled. Your guide will point out a varied selection of flora and fauna along the way. The guides will then transport you back to the city.
