Topes de Collantes Natural Park will bring you into the Escambray Mountains. Visitors come here to look for endemic species of animals, as well as to admire the park’s canyons, waterfalls, rivers, and caves.
Your guide will pick up your group from the lodge and bring you to the main lookout, located in the middle of the park. For a little refreshment you’ll head to a local coffee house to try Cuban coffee.
You’ll also get to go on a guided walk on the beautiful and somewhat isolated Vegas Grande path. Your guide will point out interesting wildlife along the way. Bird watchers will have an especially interesting walk through this area – look out for multiple species of hummingbird, as well as plump Cuban trogons. At the end of the tour you’ll have free time for swimming in a natural lagoon.
A camera, comfortable clothes for walking, a swimsuit, sunscreen and money for personal expenses.
