Pelicanos Hotel sits on the beach of El Paredón, offering guests accommodations a few steps away from some of Guatemala’s best surfing. Staying here you can spend all day enjoying the waves, and take the opportunity to explore the marine wildlife near the coast.
Pelicanos Hotel is in a fairly secluded part of Guatemala – the town of El Paredón is a tiny fishing village. This atmosphere encourages guests to take advantage of activities offered by the surrounding landscape. You can venture to the canal for a kayaking excursion, or take a boating tour of the nearby mangrove forest. Go on a horseback riding tour to see more of the peaceful black sand beach. You’ll probably want to set aside plenty of time for reveling in the surf – these reliable waves are at their largest from May to October, and they usually aren’t that much taller than 10 feet (3 m). These hollow waves are fun for experienced surfers but still fairly accessible to newbies. If you’re not interested in surfing, you can always try boogie boarding, or just set up camp next to the hotel’s pristine pool.
Rooms at Pelicanos Hotel are quite spacious, with open layouts and uncluttered designs. Tile floors and natural light make the accommodations gleam. All of the rooms have private bathrooms with upscale amenities. There is air conditioning and cable TV in all of the guest rooms.
Spend your downtime next to the pool, which has a separate section for kids. Pelicanos Hotel offers some extra services to make your stay luxurious. You can arrange to have spa treatments such as a massage or a mani-pedi during your stay.
You can eat all of your meals at the hotel. Cooks here make delectable local food, and meals are typically served in the lovely outdoor dining area, right next to the pool. If you’d like to eat out, you can walk into downtown El Paredón or drive 20 minutes to one of the other nearby beach towns.
