Bambú Resort offers clean, comfortable rooms in Mazatenango. Many visitors to Guatemala pass through Mazatenango on their way to some of the country’s major destinations.
Bambú Resort is in a fairly remote part of Guatemala, but makes for easy day trips to volcanoes, coffee plantations, and Maya ruins. It’s an hour from the town of Retalhuleu, which is the gateway to the Maya ruin of Takalik Abaj. You can also drive a little over two hours to the village of Santiago de Atitlán and Lake Atitlán. Visitors can also drive two hours to Quetzaltenango.
On the grounds of the hotel, you can swim in the sizable pool. There’s also a playground for kids.
There is Wi-Fi, but the reception is better in some parts of the hotels than others. Guests can order meals in the restaurant, and a breakfast buffet is included in your stay.
Rooms here come with window air conditioning units. There are simple furnishings and private bathrooms. The private bathrooms supply guests with hot water.
