This beautiful experience is full of culture, history , experiences , legends and all that our students are interested in learning about our Amazing Guatemalan food.
Our cooking classes usually starts at 9am, with a tour in our local market, where together with the respective students do all the ingredient shopping (optional). After visiting the market we go to my house where we will basically cook and the students become the chefs. The teacher is just an instructor that will be guiding you step by step.
After cooking the typical meal together we sit at the table where we will share our magic. The recipes we use are passed from generation to generation. At the end of our classes we provide each of our students with the recipe.
Our menu is given the morning we met and is explained to them. The most famous are Pepian, Jocon, Hilacha, and if given case we have a vegetarian student, also offer our delicious chile rellenos. Each meal includes a dessert.
After the class, you will be taken deeper into the Mayan culture with a tour through our women's weaving cooperative just below the kitchen.
