Villa Campuhan offers five guest villas, all designed to make you feel like you’ve stepped into an idyllic corner of Bali’s past. The grounds sit next to the ocean, shaded by swaying palms. It’s on the outskirts of Amlapura, where you can explore some of the countryside’s beautiful temples.
While you’re staying at these villas, you can plan a trekking tour through East Bali. You can visit Mount Agung, and visit the temple of Besakih on its slopes, which offers a stunning view of the surroundings. Just outside of Amlapura, you can also visit the must-see site of the Tirta Gangga water palace. As the name suggests, the architecture here revolves around a series of ponds and fountains. Of course, you’ll want to spend time getting sun on the grounds, walking down to the beach and admiring the gardens that are nestled between two rivers.
Balinese craftsmen created the building’s detailed carvings, and the accommodations are designed for sustainability. The villas are arranged around a 2500 square-foot (232 sq-m) communal villa that has a living room and a dining area, where you can dine on the delicious creations of local chefs, including a breakfast that’s included in your stay. This open-air lounge has a high ceiling, outfitted with plush, stylish furniture, and surrounded by the scent of wafting incense. Covered hammocks next to the beach offer a comfortable place to lay back and feel the sea breeze. There’s also an infinity swimming pool and spa services that you can enjoy in the comfort of your villa.
The five air-conditioned villas are on raised platforms, offering views of the ocean, as well as the nearby ponds and rivers. They all have plush bathroom amenities, and many of the bathrooms have views that are just as nice as the decks. Teak floors and bamboo walls blend with incredible views and breezy canopy beds. You can access Wi-Fi throughout the grounds and take advantage of the laundry service.
