Take this trek to see some of the most stunning views in northern Bali. It also includes a stop at an ancient archeological site, where you’ll get to feel connected to a bit of Indonesia’s history, surrounded by the intense greenery that makes this rural area such a memorable place to visit.
At the outset of the tour, you’ll drive through scenic Balinese countryside. Eventually you’ll reach Batur Volcano, an active volcano, located between two scenic calderas. You’ll stop for a tea and coffee break on the volcano’s slopes. Then, you’ll continue up the side of the mountain, to the highest point that your guide’s 4x4 can take you. From the Mount Batur lookout point, you’ll have a view of the Mount Agung — Bali’s holiest mountain — as well as the vast, placid surface of Batur Lake. Then, you’ll walk through a black lava field and see interesting lava formations.
Hop back in the all-terrain vehicle to continue sightseeing around the lava fields. Your guide can provide interesting information on the island’s natural history and the area’s volcanic activity. This part of the tour brings you through some traditional villages, eventually arriving at Toya Bungkah village, where you’ll get to visit a hot spring. This excursion is followed by a picnic lunch on the mountain, followed by another scenic drive to completely authentic Indonesian villages.
