It takes a little over an hour to reach Pindaya Cave from the resort — wander through its caverns to see thousands of Buddha statues, some of which have been covered in gold leaf. You’ll share the cave with worshippers paying their respects. Travel about 2 hours by car and you’ll arrive at Inle Lake, where you can hop in a traditional long boat and visit a lakeshore village to see handicrafts at the 5-Day Market. Just a bit farther south of the lake, you can visit Shwe Inn Thein Paya, which is a collection of stupas. Some of the stupas are crumbling, some are restored, and together they make a memorable sight.

Dream Mountain Resort has the look and feel of a comfortable homestay in a large, country house. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the property and guests can retire to the library.

Rooms come with big windows that let in lots of natural light and views of the countryside. All of the rooms have air conditioning and private bathrooms. There’s a minibar and a mini refrigerator in the room.

You can rely on the hotel for daily housekeeping, room service, and laundry. You can avail yourself of the hotel’s fax and copy services if need be. Guests will also have access to a safety deposit box. There is a restaurant, and breakfast is served in your room. Guests can also visit the hotel’s snack bar or visit the bar for a drink.
