While Myanmar’s government has faced massive international backlash for its handling of the Rohingya, the government remains stable. Part of this is due to the leadership of Aung San Suu Kyi, a beloved leader who has finally come to power after many years of living in exile. She is considered to more broadly represent the Burmese people, and she has condemned the military branch of the government for their human rights abuses.
