During this full-day tour, you’ll explore the highlands of Panama’s Herrera province. Along the way, you’ll visit family farms and hike in the El Montuoso Forest Reserve.
This tour provides travelers with a good look at both the agricultural and environmental world of Panama.
The tour begins with a visit to two family farms. One farm produces artisanal sugarcane honey—at this farm, you’ll learn about the manufacturing process and even get to sample some of the sweet products. The next farm produces a variety of orchids. This is a great place to take photographs and enjoy nature’s beautiful creations.
After visiting the two farms, you’ll head to the El Montuoso Forest Reserve. Known as “The Lungs of the Azuero,” this reserve is thickly forested and stunning. You’ll hike through the reserve, check out petroglyphs, and visit the origin of the La Villa River. At the river, you’ll have the opportunity to swim.
