Parque de la Reserva contains spectacular fountains, beautiful statues and impressive architecture. It's well worth a stroll at any time of the day, although it comes to life during the night with a huge water and light show.
Parque de la Reserva is beautiful and romantic. Located in downtown Lima, it is a must-see when visiting the capital and can be especially refreshing after a day spent exploring the city. The park covers 20 acres (8 ha) and was designed by a French architect.
It is the largest water fountain complex in the world. Illuminated at night, the park has fountains that continuously change colors. The highlight of the show is a laser light program synchronized with classical music and dancing fountains.
The park's largest fountain, “Magic Fountain” (Fuente Mágica), shoots water 260 feet (80 m) into the air. Built in 1929, it's also considered to be the most romantic fountain in the park.
Additional highlights are the Tunnel Fountain of Surprises (Fuente Túnel de las Sorpresas), a 115-foot (35-m) walk-through tunnel of water, and the Children’s Fountain (Fuente de los Ninos), which is a walk-in fountain that changes shape every few minutes. The Fantasia Fountain (Fuente de la Fantasia), was built to project spectacular images and videos of art and dance. It's a 390-foot (120-m) long fountain and has jets synchronized with music. Needless to say, for those who want to get involved, visits here can become a wet ordeal!
There are shows at 7:15 PM, 8:15 PM and 9.30 PM.
