Hotel Presidente (also called Hostal Presidente) is removed from the busy center of Aguas Calientes. It is located near the Vilcanota River that flows along the side of the mountain. This hotel is clean and comfortable, and you can request a room with a balcony and a view of the river.
Aguas Calientes has its own hot springs – the natural hot springs, as well as a few manmade pools filled with spring water called Baños Termales. These are are famously attractive to people who have spent the day hiking – warm mineral water does wonders for sore feet. This tiny town caters to visitors headed for Machu Picchu, and the bus stop to get to Machu Picchu is walking distance from the hotel. There are also plenty of restaurants in the immediate area. After you’re done with Machu Picchu, there’s plenty more to see. You can hike to the summit of the nearby Putucusi. It’s an adventurous climb – to get to the top, you’ll climb a ladder up a nearly vertical slope.
Rooms here come with double beds, and flat-screen TVs. The decorations are simple and homey, perfect for getting a good night’s sleep after an active day. Free Wi-Fi is accessible from the hotel lobby, and your room will come with a telephone.
Each room has its own bathroom, which supplies guests with hot water 24/7. A full breakfast is included in your stay. This buffet meal will include eggs, toast, and fresh fruit.
