The Gocta Lodge is privileged with views of the Gocta Falls, the 14th-highest falls in the world. Set about 2 hours from the town of Chachapoyas, the Gocta Lodge offers travelers comfortable rooms in an unbeatable location.
Chachapoyas is a small town in Peru’s Northern Highlands. Many travelers use this city as a base to explore the surrounding region, which is filled with big mountains, ancient ruins, and montane cloud forest. The ruins were built by the Chachapoya, a people who were killed them off by the Inca in the 16th century. Multi-day treks can be made to the ruins, promising travelers a wild and adventurous experience. Also nearby are the Gocta Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world.
The Gocta Lodge is located just outside the small town of Cocachimba, which is about 2 hours by car from Chachapoyas. Cocachimba is the starting point for hikes to the Gocta Falls. Situated at around 5,900 feet (1,800 m), this area enjoys a spring-like climate, with warm days and cooler nights.
The lodge has stunning views of the Gocta Falls and the forested mountains that surround it. In fact, each of the hotel’s ten rooms has a view of the waterfall at a distance. All rooms have a balcony or terrace facing the falls—spending a morning or evening out here is utterly pleasant.
