Rooms at Colca Lodge are spacious and peaceful, but guests are most drawn to the Colca Lodge’s exquisite grounds. The lawn blooms with red and yellow flowers and natural springs give you plenty to explore during your stay.
Colca Canyon has some remote villages that still maintain aspects of traditional culture. Visit towns like Chivay for the outdoor market where you can buy handicrafts made by locals. You can also see the ruins of pre-Inca civilization at the archeological site of Uyo Uyo. Most travelers make a stop at the lookout point called La Cruz del Condór — this area is known for majestic Andean condors, which is an especially rare bird.
Walk down to the banks of the river to experience the lodge’s hot springs. You can visit the hot springs during the day or night. All of the pools are man-made from natural materials, and bubble with minerals that promote relaxation. Some of the pools get quite hot. When you visit the spa, you can enjoy your treatment on a table that comes with a view of the beautiful surroundings. On the grounds, you can also take a stroll to see a herd of alpacas.
Rooms here have the ambiance of upscale cabins, with hardwood floors and sumptious wood furnishings. They get plenty of natural light and come with bright, white linens. Subtle decorations bring pops of yellow and green. These are spaces where you can unplug and unwind.Geothermally heated stones warm the rooms, making them more ecologically friendly than your average accommodations. Most importantly, the rooms all come with incredible views of the scenery.
You can access Wi-Fi and watch television in the lodge’s bar and lounge. There is a breakfast buffet included in your stay, and the hotel also has a restaurant you can visit in the evening. Guests also have the option to order something simple from the bar, or order room service. Colca Lodge also provides convenient laundry and dry cleaning services.
