Guests of the Abittare Hotel get to stay in a recently renovated colonial mansion. It’s right across the street from Qorikancha, Cusco’s most iconic Inca monument.
Qorikancha served as an Inca temple to the sun. When the Spanish conquered the area, they turned this temple into the Church of Santo Domingo, which incorporates Inca walls into its construction. There’s an expanse of green next door where you can take pictures of the Inca architecture. Admire the colonial architecture that surrounds the Plaza de Armas, where you can see gorgeous baroque cathedrals and an elaborate fountain.
There is a breakfast buffet included in your stay, which has Andean themed dishes and international options like bread, fresh fruit, and coffee. In this central location, the Abittare also provides complimentary coca leaf tea, which is a local remedy for altitude sickness. The rooms have simple, elegant interiors with decorative flourishes inspired by Inca culture. All of the rooms come with 32-inch LED TVs and Wi-Fi. Before you leave for the day, you can leave your belongings in the hotel’s safety deposit box. Private bathrooms come equipped with all necessary amenities, including a hair dryer.
Cusco can get chilly at night, so rooms come with heaters. Each rooms comes furnished with a desk and a wardrobe so you can keep your clothes neat. Abittare Hotel also offers a laundry service.
