Sueños del Inka puts you steps from some of the most important historic sites in Cusco, where you’ll see many monuments to the culture clash between the Spanish and the Inca.
While you stay here you can walk just a few blocks to the Twelve-Angled Stone, a stone put in place by the Inca that demonstrates their skill as masons. Other fascinating nearby sites include Qorikancha, a Spanish convent built on the ruins of an Inca temple. You can also walk to the Plaza de Armas, the city center of historic Cusco — here you’ll see important monuments like the Cusco Cathedral, which was built using stones from the nearby Inca site of Sacsayhuamán.
Sueños de Inka (or “Inca Dreams” in English) has walls and columns made of stone — a look that reflects Cusco’s fusion of Spanish and Incan architectural styles. Classical paintings hang on the wall, making the communal areas reminiscent of a Spanish cathedral. The hotel even has its own small chapel. Sueños del Inka serves a free breakfast dining room, and you can visit some of the area’s restaurants just a short walk from the hotel.
While the rest of the hotel is designed to have an antique look, the guest rooms have a fresh, modern style, with simple furnishings and white walls. Rooms come with soundproof windows to ensure you get a good night’s rest.
Stay connected using the hotel’s Wi-Fi. The room’s telephones have direct dial capability, and the TVs have LED screens. In the private bathroom you’ll find a shower and a hair dryer.
Cusco’s altitude means that the weather is often chilly, which is why rooms come equipped with heaters. Order room service if you feel like staying in, and let the staff now if you’d like to have them take care of your laundry or dry cleaning. You can store your valuables in the room’s safety deposit box.
