Paracas is a small, quiet and somewhat fancy beach town along Peru’s southern Pacific coast. It’s located 11 miles (18 km) south of Pisco along a beautiful section of the Pacific coast. This is a good place to relax, swim, and enjoy cocktails at beachside restaurants. Paracas Bay is good for windsurfing and sailing, and trips can be made to the Ballestas Islands. The Ballestas Islands are home to a nature reserve and travelers have a good chance of seeing sea lions, seals, and even penguins while out here.
