The Belmond Hotel Río Sagrado is found in Urubamba, Peru. The hotel has a serene location and wonderful facilities.
Urubamba is located in the center of the Sacred Valley, which makes it a good home base for exploring the surrounding area. The town is relaxed and hosts an assortment of good restaurants, cafés, and bars. The setting here is beautiful, with the snow-capped Urubamba Mountains rising over the nearby plains. During the daytime, visit Moray, which archeologists believe was once been used by the Inca as an agricultural testing ground. You might then continue on to the ancient salt mines, or salineras, which continue to be used today as a way to harvest salt.
The Belmond Hotel Río Sagrado is located along the banks of the Urubamba River on the edge of town. Big mountains rise in the distance and green fields lead from the hotel gardens to the river. It’s a peaceful and relaxing environment.
The Belmond Hotel Río Sagrado is built with natural materials and is meant to resemble an Andean village. It has an assortment of facilities – including two restaurants, a bar, pool, and spa – that will help guests relax and enjoy their time in the Sacred Valley.
The accommodations here are big and bright. The rooms are constructed with stones and wood, and create a wonderful sense of harmony that extends outdoors onto a private terrace. The terraces overlook either the river or gardens and are a fabulous place to unwind. King-size and queen-size beds set with Peruvian pima cotton sheets ensure a good night’s sleep, while the heated wooden floors in the bathroom allow you to stay warm even on the coolest of nights. In the evening, grab a drink from the minibar or turn on some tunes with the iPod dock.
There are also two villas that guests can rent. These 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom villas can sleep up to six guests. With large living rooms and beautiful outdoor terraces, they are a good option for groups or families. The villas also feature a fully equipped kitchen and dining room.
Savor Peruvian cuisine at the hotel’s two restaurants. El Huerto is sophisticated and elegant, with a candlelit atmosphere and dishes that include local specialties and international delicacies. The El Jardin Restaurant is a great spot to enjoy lunch outside—select a table in sunlight or shade and enjoy locally sourced ingredients, homemade breads, and more. The hotel’s bar overlooks the Urubamba River and serves a selection of international wines and spirits.
Enjoy a dip in the heated swimming pool or relax and take in views of the river while lounging on comfortable sunbeds. Pool assistants cater to your needs, bringing everything from fresh towels to snacks to pisco sours. If further relaxation is in order, head over to the hotel spa and enjoy a selection of massages and treatments, as well as use of the Jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna.
The hotel’s business center is equipped with computers, printers, a fax machine, photocopier, and postal service. Wireless Internet is also available throughout the hotel.
