Vichayito is set about 4 miles (7 km) south of Máncora. The area is quiet and offers travelers a more remote place to relax along Peru’s North Coast.
Vichayito’s light-sand beach has no rocks and is a good place for swimming. Kitesurfing and windsurfing can also be practiced here—the best wind blows between April and November. Travelers might be equally interested in trying standup paddleboarding or kayaking on the ocean. You can sometimes spot humpback whales off the coast.
There are bungalows, hotels, and some restaurants set along the Vichayito coastline, which provides travelers with easy access to the beach. Staying here will be significantly calmer than staying in Máncora.
The lovely beach of Órganos is about 3 miles (5 km) south of Vichayito.
