Let Harold know what you think!
This guided hike through the rainforest is an educational experience. Manuel Antonio is a tropical rainforest with lots of rare species for you to discover. Your will be an eye in the sky with the Canopy walk once you reach the top of the mountain. On this 4-hour trek you’ll get to look for birds, anteaters, and monkeys.
On this hike you’ll be on a trail that travels through “primary” forest, a term that means this forest has many layers of uninterrupted growth. This is part of what makes Manuel Antonio such an ecologically diverse place. Once you get to the top you will reach the suspension bridges that make up the Canopy tour. You will have an amazing ocean view and be able to see the tops of trees up close. This way of experiencing the forrest decreases the impact of visitors on the environment while allowing a bird's eye view.
You can customize your hike to your interests. Your group can also decide the pace of the hike. If you’re there mainly for the exotic bird watching, your guide will help you look for trogons, motmots, and pygmy owls (among many others). Besides tropical birds, other species to look out for include silky anteaters and squirrel monkeys. Or if you prefer, focus your hike on the rainforest flora, and learn more about how the surrounding trees provide for the local wildlife.
This hike includes a stop at Manuel Antonio’s natural pools and waterfalls. It has cool water and is a lovely place to pause and go for a swim or snap the perfect picture.
