Hotel Inglaterra was built in 1875, and today offers the same elegant panache that it had when offered accommodations to famous guests like poet Jose Martí and Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. On visits here, you’ll have easy access to excellent view and regular live music performances.
This hotel is in the midst of Havana’s famous historic district, Old Havana. Hotel Inglaterra is right across the street from the city’s central park, a scenic green space with a statue of José Martí. It’s a short walk from here to the famous bar called Bodeguita del Medio, and many other lesser-known but inviting bars that serve delicious daiquiris and mojitos. On an arhcitetural or cultural tour, you’ll learn about the history of Havana on visits to the nearby colonial buildings.
The cafe frequently hosts live music and has a good view of the bustling sidewalk. Breakfast is included in your stay, and is served every morning in the restaurant. The bar is beautifully decorated with tiles from Seville, as well as arched doorways that give the space a Moroccan flair.
On the rooftop terrace, you’ll find a grill, a Jacuzzi, and comfortable loungers in the solarium. It’s a lovely place to have cocktails in the evening, and another spot where you can hear live music. During the day, you should come here to get a view of the surrounding cityscape.
There are three floors of guest rooms, and each floor has 15 guest rooms. They have an old-fashioned feel, with heavy curtains and floral linens. Rooms come with telephones and small TVs. Each room has a private bathroom with hot water and a hair dryer. You can store valuables, like passports, in the safety deposit box.
