The Hotel City Plaza is located in downtown Guayaquil in the heart of the historic, commercial and financial centers. The José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport is about a 10-minute drive away.
Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest city, and is the driver for the country’s economic engine. The city is modernizing and changing rapidly, especially in downtown areas. Travelers often spend time here while flying to the Galápagos Islands, as most flights depart from or make a stop in Guayaquil. While here, head out for a stroll along the Malecón Simón Bolívar, which borders the river. If you’re in the mood for shopping, cruise through 9 de Octubre, a downtown shopping area, and then go grab a bite in one of the restaurants in the Las Peñas neighborhood.
The Hotel City Plaza is set in a safe, convenient location—the Malecón Simón Bolívar is a short walk away. The staff here is friendly and readily recommends restaurants, shops, and activities.
The hotel has single rooms, double rooms, and suites. The rooms are modern and furnished with a range of amenities, including wireless Internet and a flat screen cable TV. The rooms stay cool with air conditioning and there is a mini-fridge where you can store food and drinks. All rooms have a private bathroom with a hot water shower, bathtub, and hair dryer; laundry and ironing service are available upon request. The towels are changed daily and soap, shampoo, conditioner, a shower cap, and sewing kit are all included. Be sure to stash your valuables in the electronic safety deposit box—it is a good idea to put your passport, extra money, and electronics in here for safekeeping. Guests on business will appreciate the large work desk and executive-style chair.
The Junior Suite has a king-size bed (or two twin beds) and a sofa bed. The Senior Suite has a king-size bed and a separate living area (with a sofa bed). This suite also includes a balcony, where you can sit outside and soak up views of the surrounding area. The Deluxe Suite includes the same amenities, but also has a Jacuzzi bathtub.
Hotel City Plaza also has a business center equipped with computers and printers that guests are invited to use. If you’re hosting meetings or conferences in Guayaquil, you can book the hotel’s meeting room, which can hold up to 12 people, or the salon, which can hold up to 30 people. Both rooms have AV equipment.
A breakfast is offered to guests each morning—this includes a choice of cold cuts, cheese, bread, pastries, eggs, cereal, fresh fruit, and yogurt. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the restaurant, which has some truly delicious options. At the end of a busy day, relax with a drink at the hotel bar.
