The lava tunnels of Isabela Island create an unforgettable underwater landscape for snorkeling.
This tour begins with a hotel pickup and then continues to the boat that takes you to Isabela Island. Your group will have a maximum of 10 participants and will be led by a naturalist guide with extensive knowledge of the Galápagos
.
Hot lava erupting in the cold Pacific waters created the tunnels. On the way to the dive site, you’ll stop at the Rock Union to do some bird watching. Before you enter the water, you’ll see natural bridges and above ground tunnels also formed by lava— keep an eye out for blue-footed boobies waddling around the volcanic rocks.
Finally, you’ll reach a dive site called El Finado. Snorkelers come here to look for sea turtles, seahorses, and Galápagos penguins. Calm water makes it easy to explore the underwater scenery. Once you’re done exploring, you’ll head back to the boat for a boxed lunch and then return to the port.
Water bottle, comfortable clothes, hat, sunblock, sun glasses, swimsuit, sneakers, a wind breaker, and money for tips.
Box lunch, transportation, naturalist guide, water, and snorkeling equipment.
