Within Machalilla National Park, you can set sail for Plata Island. This island has many of the same characteristics and endangered species as the Galápagos Islands. Observe some of them on this fun, full-day tour.

Once you arrive, your guide will take you on a 2-hour walking tour. (Take note: in order to reach the paths, you must climb 180 stairs.) Along the way he’ll point out the unusual species of bird that live on the island, including blue-footed boobies, red-footed boobies, frigate birds, and the rare albatross. After the walk, you’ll return to the boat for a lite sandwich lunch.

Just beyond the island, a coral reef provides a welcoming habitat for tropical fish, manta rays, and sea turtles. You’ll get to snorkel here for an hour after lunch.
