Staying at Hotel Mercure, you’ll be a few blocks north of Parque Ejido, one of Quito’s many green spaces. To see an even more impressive local park, take the 5-minute drive to Parque La Carolina. At Parque Carolina, you can see the sights at a botanical garden, a natural science museum, and a vivarium for native reptiles. Just 10 minutes south of the hotel, visit La Iglesia de la Compañía, one of the most important sites in the historic district of Quito. This colonial cathedral took 160 years to build. The inside hosts an awe-inspiring collection of religious paintings and gold. From this church, you can easily walk to the other colonial buildings in the area.
Each of the 147 rooms at Hotel Mercure comes with an LCD cable television and a radio. If you’re sharing a room, you’ll be happy to know each room has two phones. The phones are also equipped with voice mail. It’s a pleasure to get ready for the day in these rooms’ large bathrooms, each equipped with a bathtub and a hair dryer.

In between outings, you can visit the well-equipped 24-hour fitness center. When you’re ready to relax, sit at the bar, or unwind in one of the plush lounge chairs. Seating near the bar extends into the spacious lobby. The lobby and bar have a clean aesthetic, with lots of white furniture and bright accents.
If you’re hungry, you can quickly grab a bite from the hotel’s Restaurant Spicy Bistro. It has a large menu, including a sushi bar. Go for lunch to sample the huge buffet.
