Snorkeling enthusiasts should visit Isla Lobos and Kicker Rock, a short distance offshore from Playa de Oro. The Galápagos is known for its stunning underwater landscapes, and these two formations attract some of the most interesting wildlife in the area. Sea turtles are known to congregate around each one.
Casa Opuntia is within walking distance from the Interpretation Center. This small educational facility has a boardwalk and exhibits that explain the significance of the Galápagos’ rare ecosystem. If you take a short drive inland from the hotel, you’ll arrive at Laguna El Junco. This lake is often covered in mist, but on a clear day you’ll see a variety of exotic birds bathing in the clear waters.
Casa Opuntia has comfortable accommodations, and a layout designed to make sure you get the most out of the outdoor areas. This hotel faces the waterfront, and is located a few steps from the shoreline. The hotel prides itself on its helpful, bilingual staff and its sustainable use of resources.
