Hotel Crossman offers 9 rooms, a short distance from some of the main attractions on the island of Santa Cruz. This hotel is located just a couple blocks to the west of Puerto Ayora’s main drag, Charles Darwin Avenue. From here you can quickly access the many businesses that cater to the island’s tourist population.
Ease into the bright blue waters of the island at the Laguna de las Ninfas, just 2 blocks south of the hotel. You can jump off the floating docks, or paddle around in a rented boat. Take a 5-minute drive to the south to access the warm waters of Tortuga Bay. This is one of the best beaches on the island, with no waves and a huge variety of animals. Ask anyone – this is the ideal spot to do some snorkeling. You’ll see giant turtles, iguanas, scuttling crabs, and perhaps the fin of one of the small sharks that patrol these waters. Tortuga Bay doesn’t have much to sell tourists, so make sure to bring plenty of provisions. Pack a cooler so you can lounge on the white sand as long as you want. To learn more about the natural history of the island, visit the nearby Charles Darwin Research Center, about a 20-minute walk from Hotel Crossman.
Rooms at Hotel Crossman let in plenty of sunlight. Colorful linens and high ceilings keep the rooms feeling fresh. Every room at Hotel Crossman has air conditioning. You’ll also stay entertained with the free Internet and cable TV. You can wash off the beach in the private bathroom, supplied with plenty of hot water.
You’ll want to get up early to start your day, but don’t leave before you get breakfast. Hotel Crossman provides a complimentary breakfast with your stay, including cold cuts, eggs, bread, and fruit. You can eat in the rustic dining room, or take your meal to the lovely outdoor patio. The hotel restaurant can also arrange to serve lunch and dinner. When you’re hungry to hit the town, Charles Darwin Avenue has some of the best local options for dining out.
