Take a boating tour of the villages along the shore. Different villages host the “5-Day Market” each day of the week — besides browsing silk, pottery, and hand-carved item, you can also arrange to tours to see craftsmen at work. This area is also convenient for scenic bike rides. Explore some of the area’s history and culture at Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, which is the site of a popular festival in October. Travel a bit farther to Shwe Inn Dein Pagodas. Some of the stupas here are crumbling, while others are restored and covered in gold leaf.
You can walk along a raised boardwalk to the edge of a small waterway that leads to Inle Lake. There’s a courtyard with a small pool that looks out over the water. Try some traditional herbal remedies at the resort’s spa.
The restaurant here serves a variety of food — there are traditional Myanmar dishes as well as menu items from Thailand, China, and Europe. Breakfast is included as part of your stay. The buffet is indoors but you can also have meals and drinks on the terrace.
Rooms are simply decorated, with warm, neutral colors. Each room has its own private bathroom.
