Head out of historical Hue City to the beautiful natural lagoons between the farmland and the ocean. Take a trip out onto the water, learn how to fish with the locals, and enjoy a sumptuous seafood lunch.
Travel 10 miles (15 km) outside of Hue towards the coast and reach the serene landscapes of Tam Giang and Dam Chuon Lagoons. Between the farmland and rugged mountains of the interior and the dunes and bright blue ocean of the coast, these beautiful stretches of water are home to small fishing communities.
Reach one of the villages and hop into a sampan boat to cruise out into the lagoon. Observe the local fishermen on the water, and the fishing nets strung up over the lagoon, creating beautiful silhouettes. You’ll then cruise to a traditional home in a fishing village for a delicious seafood lunch caught from the lagoon itself.
