Take a break from the beach to discover the spiritual side to Nha Trang. On this half-day tour, you’ll step back in time to the Cham era at the Po Nagar Towers. You’ll also learn about modern-day Buddhism at the Long Son Pagoda and Vietnam’s colonial history at the Nha Trang Cathedral.
Your first stop on this spiritual triangle tour is the 7th-Century Cham Temple, Po Nagar Towers. You’ll wander between the four remaining temples as you learn the history of this once-great civilization. The temples are 14 centuries old and are still in use today by Cham, Chinese, and Vietnamese Buddhists.
Moving ahead 12 centuries, you’ll then visit the Long Son Pagoda which sits at the foot of a hill at the edge of the city. This temple is devoted to the monks and nuns who gave their lives fighting the Diem Government. Here, you’ll climb to the top of the hill where a giant Buddha sits looking out over the city.
For your final spiritual stop, you’ll head to the 20th-century cathedral, the Christ of King Cathedral. Built by the French, the cathedral is a stunning example of gothic revival architecture. It also has an incredible collection of stained glass windows.
