Chau Long 2 puts you a short distance from some of the area’s most interesting communities. This is a large resort with plenty of amenities on site and great views of the valley and surrounding rice terraces.
Downhill from the resort, you can find the local village of Cat Cat, where H’mong people live —they are easily recognizable by their traditional dress. This is a popular spot for visitors and you can follow a winding path to a rushing waterfall that powers a few giant water wheels. You can wade in the water and take a break in some of the local cafes before you begin your hike back. There are more distant villages where you can visit more traditional H’mong and Dzao communities.
The hotel restaurant serves some local favorites, like fish from the river, soup, and noodle dishes. You can start your day with the breakfast buffet that’s included in your stay. There’s also a bar that serves light snacks and has a billiards table.
You can socialize with other travelers in the spacious lounge area or get some work done in the public computer area. Spend some more of your down time swimming some laps in the enormous Indoor swimming pool. Visit the spa for a massage and a dip in the ornate hot pool area.
The conference room is large enough for 150 people and all the audio-visual equipment you’ll need for a presentation. You can also choose to have your event catered.
Rooms come with calm, neutral colors and comfortable furnishings, including a work desk. Every room type comes with a private bathroom that is equipped with a hair dryer. Stay cool under the ceiling fan in your air conditioned room, maybe while sipping something from the minibar. There’s also a TV and a laundry service so you don’t have to worry about visiting a laundromat. Every room has a safety deposit box and an international direct dial phone.
