Hotel Casa Joaquin is a boutique hotel situated in the heart of Quito. The hotel is located within a colonial house and offers guests a delicious daily breakfast.
You’re bound to end up in Quito while traveling in Ecuador. The town is the capital of the country and is a delight to explore. You can take in cultural and historical attractions in Old Town, and experience more modern aspects of the city in the La Mariscal district, which hosts restaurants, bars, and shops. Visit Parque La Carolina to go for a stroll or rent a paddleboard, or go climbing, mountain biking, and rafting outside the city.
Hotel Casa Joaquin has a convenient location in Quito’s La Mariscal neighborhood. It’s easy to walk to restaurants, bars, shops, and the artesian market from here. Once you step inside the hotel, however, it feels like an oasis.
The hotel is a nice mix of old and new styles, and has a sort of historical-chic feel to it. The house was built in 1930 and was a former home for European families, but was renovated recently to meet travelers’ needs. On the ground floor, there is a reception, bar, and central patio, which is a great place to read the newspaper or have a glass of wine.
The house’s original stairs, made from Ecuadorian wood and iron forging, lead to the guestrooms upstairs. The 14 rooms are individually designed and decorated with pleasant artwork, furniture, and lighting. All rooms have a private bathroom with a hot-water shower and hair dryer. The beds are comfy with orthopedic mattresses, and there is a safety deposit box where you can store valuables. All rooms also come equipped with modern amenities like free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen cable TV. In addition to the guest rooms, there is a suite and apartment. The suite has the same amenities plus a living room, while the apartment sports a living room, dining room, kitchen, and private patio.
The food here is great. Enjoy a romantic dinner in the hotel’s La Petite Mariscal restaurant, where you can try typical Ecuadorian dishes including ceviche and hornado. A delicious breakfast buffet is served each morning to guests. This includes a mix of continental and English items alongside local specialties, including empanadas, humitas, fresh croissants, and exotic fruit.
The hotel’s bar offers a range of beers, coffees, whiskeys, and fine European wines. You can enjoy a drink on the patio or the sunny rooftop terrace, which has spectacular views of the surrounding hills.
