Quito is the capital city of Ecuador and the place where most travelers are likely to fly into and out of when visiting this country. The city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978, thanks in part to its impressive historic district, which is known as Old Town. Here you’ll find baroque churches, monasteries, and other old buildings. Art lovers can visit contemporary museums or go shopping for indigenous handicrafts in the city’s many boutiques. There are also ample restaurants where you can sample Ecuadorian cooking, including some especially tasty (and hearty) stews.

This is an ideal location for travelers interested exploring the churches, buildings, and museums of this neighborhood. The hotel is set within a lovely Spanish colonial villa and has a friendly, helpful staff.

The rooms are spacious and attractive, with wooden floors, local artwork, and colonial-style decorations. All rooms come with a private bathroom and hot water shower, as well as a cable TV and Wi-Fi access. If you’ll be traveling on business, you’ll appreciate the desk, which allows you get work done within the comfort of your own room. The hotel’s suites are larger than rooms and may include lofted living areas.
The daily breakfast buffet is extensive and offers guests a convenient way to start their day. The hotel’s restaurant, El Rincón de Cantuña, specializes in national and Spanish cuisine and has outdoor seating—you can sit in the hotel’s large central courtyard and eat your food in this pleasant environment. Drinks can be ordered from the bar and enjoyed in the lounge, which has exposed stone walls and an intimate atmosphere. It’s also nice to take drinks outside the bar and sip them on the terrace.
